Interesting star and star-like shapes and patterns can be made by drawing round a plastic shape, rotating it, and then repeating the process until the shape is back where it began.
The star can either be the whole pattern or the overlaps, or a combination of both.
Some shapes make better 'stars' than others, and the amount that the shapes are rotated makes a difference to the pattern. Colouring can make the pattern look quite different. All this can be investigated.
